Gardens Open

  1. Capel House

The colourful historic garden of the former Prestbury House Hotel. The ‘ha-ha’, or sunken wall, allows a view of the field where horses graze. There is a woodland walk and large vegetable garden. Auction of ‘Italian Job’ poster signed by Michael Caine at this garden.

2. Glebe Road (SATURDAY ONLY)

Our garden is themed for outdoor living – rooms with views. The koi pond with waterfall is our pride and joy. We have a novel way to grow vegetables!

3. Thatched Cottage, Deep Street (note change)

Approached from the High Street via a rose covered archway this charming garden, with textural and foliage interest, is set against a beautiful thatched cottage.

4. Bay Tree Court

The independent living residents of this Lilian Faithfull home help care for two hidden garden areas and a colourfully planted driveway.

5. 15 Noverton Lane

A medium sized garden started from scratch eight years ago and still evolving. Semi- formal structure with relaxed planting.  Roses, herbaceous, no-dig fruit & veg patch.

6. Foxcote, Noverton Lane

A hidden garden surrounded by mature trees, great for hide and seek! Wildlife pond and new rockery. Some unusual plants. Outdoor teas served here.

7. Robinswood, Noverton Lane

Large sunny garden with flower borders, vegetable plot and fruit cage inside the original walled garden of the now demolished Prestbury Court. An interesting living willow Wendy House for the grandchildren.

Wendy Stafford’s glass fusion art will be on display and for sale at this garden.

8. The Cottage, Mill Street

This beautiful large garden has been featured in Cotswold Life. It includes formal hedging and topiary with mixed relaxed planting. There is a sunken area with rill, a courtyard herb garden, a wildlife area with stream and a formal entertaining area.

9. The Folly, Mill Street

This garden is a contemporary, architectural, relaxed garden – a great space for entertaining.

10. Priors Piece, Mill Street

An unusual garden originally laid out in a formal style with lawns and box hedges. It includes some interesting trees such as Ginkgo and several Acers and is dominated by an enormous magnolia.   A beautiful secluded area is hidden behind the ancient Dovecote.

11. Lower Mill, Mill Street

A large well-established garden with many lovely plants and interesting streamside planting. Gravel drive, narrow bridge over the stream, uneven steps, may be slippery in places.

12. 75 Shaw Green Lane

A deceptively large garden with different zones, the vegetable plot at the end. An attractively designed area behind the house with ornamental pond and Wedding Day rose smothering a yew tree.

13. Knole House, Shaw Green Lane

A newly developing garden with an attractive design including a long, curved border. A place to relax and enjoy the beautiful view across the fields to the Church.

14. 3 Shaw Green Lane

Unusually fruit and vegetables are grown in raised beds at the front of the house. Note the cunning watering system! The rear garden with many metal bird sculptures and acers in pots is dominated by the wonderful view.

15. Shaws, 2 Shaw Green Lane

A mature garden developed for an active family now returning with grandchildren to explore and experience wildlife areas in safety.
